Rivers Road Trip – Day 4

Overview

Meals

  • Breakfast: Bag breakfast, between 7:30-8:30 AM (time TBD)
  • Lunch: On-your-own in Terrace
  • Dinner: On-your-own in Terrace

Major Activities

  1. Short hike (group hike, moderate)
  2. Long block for free time in Terrace (from 12 noon to 8 PM; but there are more restrictions from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM)
  3. Opportunity to shower at the public swimming pool (and you can swim, too, if interested)
  4. Planned (optional) activities during free time include:
    • swimming (free) in the public pool (there are two public swims, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, you may do either or both),
    • optional longer hike open to all students who want to go on it,
    • and time for reading/relaxing in the Terrace Library and/or window shopping

Schedule

6:15 AM (or earlier if needed)Early risers (bathroom opens, only some lights are on, please be silent in the sleeping area of the gym)
6:30 AMGentle risers (lights are on at 100% in the sleeping area, please be silent, you can start packing, use washroom, etc.)
6:40 AMEveryone up (gentle wake up music is played, everyone is up, late risers must pack quickly, does not need to be silent)
7:00 AMThe gym is fully packed, stored for loading, everyone is almost ready (we load the bus at 7:15 AM)
7:10 AMGym is empty, ready for a group clean up check (everyone helps)

Since we only have the bus for 12-hours, we are working out a plan for how to get the gear to the Terrace Library by 8:45 AM. Students will take a short walk from the school to downtown for optional coffee or to wait with the gear. We have a truck, so most gear will be trucked to the meeting spot. These details will be announced later. We will provide a bag lunch during this time as well (time TBD).

8:45 AM Bus departs (short drive)

Moderate group hike in the Terrace area
11:45 AMArrive at the Terrace Library (this is the meeting point for the rest of the day)
12:00 noon to 5:00 PMFree time – Block 1 (regular free time)

We will go the details at a meeting. All of the regular rules apply during block 1 (regular free time).
5:00 PM to 8:00 PMFree time – Block 2 (more restrictions)

During this time, you must follow all regular free time rules plus you must have a specific plan for what you are doing, or be at the library (no wandering, window shopping, etc.).
8:15 PM (perhaps earlier)Bus departs to the school, then get set up for the night
